We face a lot of situations and so many circumstances try to threaten us. Often times we feel all alone with no light in sight. Sometimes we don't even see the light at the end of the tunnel except for the onrushing train. We are forced to throw in the towel but I have a good news for you. He who made you can fix you. He never sleeps, He never slumbers and you ask why? Because you are precious to Him. Are you still in doubt?
Isaiah 49:15-16 (NIV)
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.
Jesus gave an illustration of a father who would not give unto his child a snake when the child asks for bread. The same can be said about God because He is all righteous. Imagine a mortal father, full of sins and yet knows how to give unto his child the best of things, how much more God, who is the Father of light and in whom there is no variableness?
The issue most of us have, which includes me sometimes is that, we don't want any trouble at all. We have forgotten than life is full of troubles and God never promised us a trouble free life. Still not sure?
John 16:33 (NIV)
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
As long as we are in this world, there would always be troubles flying left and right hoping to knock us off our stride. It is our faith in God and by His loving mercy that we can pull through.
It doesn't matter whether it was a self orchestrated problem because His mercy is able to speak and give us a wonderful ending. The Bible says that God is faithful and He will not tempt us above our limits and when those temptations come, He will also provide a way of escape for us to endure it and come out victorious. This shows that if God can allow it, then He can use it.
We often ask God why He allows some things to come our way without knowing He has faith in us that we can bear it. We often try to crumble under the weight of that pressure not knowing we have the ability to overcome it. The grace has been made available for us. It is not about God rolling the stones now, but about our ability not to see our abilities. If God allowed it, then we should know that it can never be the end. We should raise our faith rather than our fears.
I come with an assurance today that whatever you are going through is not unto death. Just as Jesus told the disciples when they told Him that Lazarus, whom He love was about to die. Jesus said this death is to the Glory of God, the Father.
Whatever you are doing through, no matter how steep and terrible it seem, God is able to bring you out and restore to you the years that has been wasted - the years the cankerworms had eaten. God is not a man that He should lie nor a son of man that He should repent. He is able to honour His words by keeping it. We have that assurance in Him that faithful is He who has called us and faithful is He who will establish it.
You won't die in it. That is a guarantee. If God can allow you go through this then you can be sure He will turn it around for His good.
Genesis 50:20 (NIV)
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.
We have a blueprint from the Bible of how God brought people into their wealthy places after having gone through so much and what was received as compensation was greater than what they thought they initially lost. Joseph thought he lost his family. Job thought he lost everything. David lost wives and possessions but he was able to recover all by God's help. The Bible recorded it that "Nothing missing, nothing broken, nothing lacking" he recovered all that we're stolen and even got more in benefits. Isn't God amazing? Raise your faith because God is able to do much more.
