Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti does not want to leave the Camp Nou this summer and will fight for his place at the club. A report says that the defender wants to complete his contract at the club until the summer of 2023 and try to force his way back into the starting lineup.
Umtiti has dropped out of the club in recent seasons, mainly due to injuries as he has struggled with a recurring knee problem.
The French defender has also lost his place in France's central defense, with Clement Lenglet - his Barca team-mate - often preferred for both Barcelona and the French national team, while Gerard Pique is still the first choice in the central defense at Camp Nou.
Umtiti's contract in Barcelona runs until the summer of 2023, and he is still eager to fight for his first team place, while the club is keen to get him sold to get more salary caps.
